Create Your Very Own Cardboard Guitar
Growing up, Dolly fashioned her own homemade guitar from an old mandolin and rusty piano strings. But all you and your family will need for this sweet and simple guitar is:
- A box of Dolly Parton's Buttermilk Pancake Mix*
- One paper towel tube
- Rubber bands
- Duct tape
- Scissors
*Be sure to empty your box before you start building. We've found a guitar full of mix just doesn't sound the same.
Step 1
Cut a hole in the top and center of your box.
Step 2
Make small cuts around the top of your cardboard tube.
Step 3
Tape your tube to your box.
Step 4
Stretch rubber bands around your guitar, from the top of your tube to the bottom of your box.
Step 5
Jam out.
