Ingredients

  • PAM® Baking Spray

  • 1 pkg (15.25 oz each) Duncan Hines® Dolly Parton's Southern Style Coconut Cake Mix

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 4 eggs

  • FILLING:

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/4 cup vanilla instant pudding mix

  • 2 cups sweetened flaked coconut

  • 1 container (16 oz each) Duncan Hines® Dolly Parton's Buttercream Frosting

Directions

  • Step one

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray two 8-inch round pans with baking spray.

  • Step two

    Whisk cake mix, 1 cup milk, melted butter and eggs together in a large bowl until well blended.

  • Step three

    Pour batter into pans and bake 24 to 28 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely.

  • Step four

    Whisk 1/2 cup milk and pudding mix together in small bowl until blended. Set aside to thicken.

  • Step five

    Place one cooled cake layer on serving plate. Spread pudding over and sprinkle with about 1/4-cup coconut. Place second cake layer on top of first. Frost entire cake with buttercream frosting.

  • Step six

    Press remaining coconut all over the top and sides of cake. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
