1 large apple, peeled and cut in 1/4-inch pieces (about 1 cup)

2 tablespoons water

1 pkg (20 oz each) Duncan Hines® Dolly Parton’s Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Cake & Muffin Mix

2 eggs
-
1/2 cup milk
-
1/2 cup melted butter (for cake batter)

2 tablespoons melted butter (for streusel topping)

BROWN SUGAR DRIZZLE:

1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
-
1 tablespoon milk

Step one
CRUMB CAKE: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray. Pour cake mix into large bowl. Pour cinnamon mix into small bowl.

Pour apple and water into a small skillet. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender and water has evaporated, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

Stir eggs, milk, and 1/2-cup melted butter with cake mix in large bowl until well blended. Fold in cooked apples. To make streusel topping, stir 2 tablespoons melted butter into small bowl with cinnamon mix until well blended.

Pour half the cake batter into pan. Sprinkle with about half of the streusel. Scoop remaining cake batter on top (use a spatula or the back of a spoon for easy spreading). Top with remaining streusel topping.

Bake 30 to 34 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes.

BROWN SUGAR DRIZZLE: Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in brown sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk in confectioners' sugar and milk. Drizzle brown sugar glaze over your apple crumb cake, cool 5 minutes. Slice and serve!
